Olentangy John is John Atzberger and himself, whom he discovered at a secluded campsite somewhere in the Appalachian foothills in late 2002. The two have since evolved a style that sounds partly new and partly old. O! Be Joyful is Olentangy’s first full-length, the result of several years of months and days and minutes and seconds.

Cat Tracks:

Cat Tracks plays in various configurations but its core consists of Joseph D’Amico on guitar or mandolin and Cymra Haskell on fiddle.  Joseph and Cymra first started playing music together 15 years ago in Austin, Texas.  Cymra grew up in England listening to traditional songs and tunes from the British Isles.  Joseph is a native of Los Angeles.  He started playing bluegrass, irish and country music in Arkansas and Texas in the early 80’s and on into the 90’s.  Today their music is straight up Old Time; fiddle tunes and songs that will keep your toes tapping and your soul dancing.

The Mosby Raiders:

mosby_raiders

These brothers from Richmond, Va know the meaning of “Brother Duets” of old (to chill and warm hearts at the same time).  Johnny plays banjo, guitar and a bit of fiddle and currently resides in Seattle, Wa.  Ryan plays guitar and mandolin and has recently moved back to Blacksburg, Va.  Both these boys soak up all the music going on in their respective towns.  Together they can swing, and swoon, and pick to excite all listeners.  All we’re missing is Jim Fitzpatrick on percussion!  FEUD! Sitting in with them for the social is Christopher Suen, who grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in the heart of the Canadian prairies. Now based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Christopher’s love of traditional folk music led him to full-immersion old-time banjo some five years ago. He plays in numerous and diverse Vancouver projects, including Shout!WhiteDragon (old-time string band), Whiskeyjar (old-timey newgrass), The Direwolves (country blues), and The Fugitives (contemporary folk and spoken word).
